The start of somedays aka. fridge magnets :]

So I figured I should probably start out slow.

Baby steps.

Here's something that I pinned a while back and have wanted to do. And it helps that our new apartment is lacking in some essentials.

Like fridge magnets! :]

Look at it.
My poor fridge is bare.

So I felt the need to fix that. Luckily I already had lots of  those little marble thingys (to put it eloquently) from my wedding, and some mod podge laying around, so I pretty much had the majority of the materials. But here's a list in case you would like to make these lovely little things to spruce your own barren fridge. :]

Material List:                                                                              Price:

• Marble Thingys                                                                                      about $1.00          
• Mod Podge                                                                                 $5.00- for a 4oz bottle
• Magnets                                                                   $0.97-$2.00 (depending on what you get)
• Good lookin' paper                                                                                 Dirt cheap.

                                                                                                            Total Price: ~$0.20 per magnet

Assembly of the magnets doesn't take much brain power.

Note: Sorry for the blatantly obviously steps that are about to follow but I also acquired a shiny new camera from my awesome brother that should not be wasting away in the bag so I had to pull it out and snap a few photos.

How I did it aka. directions:

 Pick out some fancy paper.

Trace and cut out shape of marble.

Lather some mod podge on the back.

Slap your paper on.

Add your magnet.

Repeat 10 times and you're done!

Some items to be aware of: The magnet strip that I got is not very strong so you may want to spend the extra few cents and get the stronger ones. Also make sure you let the mod podge dry before utilizing your magnets or it could possibly pull off the paper from the marble. (I got a little excited and tried them out too quickly).

So yeah, pretty simple.

Crazy simple actually. I know, but I had to start somewhere and my fridge looks a bit better now.

Some day I will make fridge magnets. Check.

Today.

Though I wish it with all my might and sometimes even have the urge to pretend that I am,
I am not a naturally gifted writer.

Nor am I very creative.

I look at lovely blogs in which eloquent people describe so perfectly the various events that transpire in their lives; or amazing crafty people who can make the most fantastic things under the sun using what seems to be a toothpick and some aluminum foil

And I dream fondly that some day I will have the time, the means, and the talent to perform such awsomenessities.

But so far that's all its been,
A dream.

Some day I will. . .

I use those words a lot, and I have very packed boards of unaccomplished goals on pintrest to prove it. :]

This blog is for Me.

It's to allow me to get beyond that "Some day stage" and enjoy engaging in all sorts of things life has to offer, while hopefully improving upon my writing/journal skills in the mean time--who doesn't like killing two birds with one stone! Figuratively that is. . . No literal bird killing for me please.
